Promoting Education Through High School BBQ Teams
The High School BBQ Cookers Association is a Non Profit 501(c)(3) educational student organization created to promote and sanction educational extracurricular cook offs while promoting and preserving BBQ education. This is done through State High School BBQ Championships, Regional State cook offs, High School BBQ Clubs, and various community and youth-oriented programs and BBQ events to support career and technical education (CTE) in the Nation's classrooms. The High School BBQ Cookers Association goal is to enrich the lives of our student cookers through BBQ clubs and cook offs, promoting family values, life skills, character development, and leadership through educational events that provide scholarship opportunities. We establish strict guide lines and academic standards that allow our student cooks to excel in the classroom and in their community while achieving their educational goals and dreams. All revenue generated is reinvested into various CTE educational programs, cook offs, and scholarships. The High School BBQ Cookers Association (HSBBQCA) is true and committed to its mission of supporting Youth, Teachers, Vocational Education, Agriculture, and Community.

Do you cook the best BBQ in your school or community? How about your steaks? Are you the Pit-master extraordinaire? What about a Master Welder? Bring your school and classmates to a Sanctioned High School BBQ Cookers Association Cook Off and compete for scholarships, trophies, and prizes. The HSBBQCA State Championship pays out prizes for the top 10 Overall Places. Will your High School and community be named the High School BBQ Grand Champion? Time to get your High School BBQ Club started and team practicing!
The HSBBQCA focus is on inspiring students to use the skills they are learning in Career and Technical classrooms and in their bbq clubs to be more effective leaders and servants in their schools and communities. We offer team and individual cooking categories that include Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Steak, Beans, and Dessert. We also offer some Ancillary Categories to involve your whole High School BBQ Club or just a few cooks. Our goal is to create a fun ,relaxing, engaging environment for students to cook and showcase their learning while hosting a fair student competition.
HSBBQCA provides all the meats for cooking so it is fair, consistent, and an even playing field for students to showcase their skills. Our Double Blind judging and evaluation processes add to the integrity and ensure the best cook or cooks of the day win.

The High School BBQ Cookers Association is a partnership formed by a group of students, teachers, bbq cookers, and industry pioneers dedicated to promoting the future of the sport of high school cook offs by engaging students across America in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. High School cooks offs offer an opportunity for current high school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education Student Organizations (CTSO'S) such as ProStart, Skills USA, National FFA, Family Career and Community Leaders of America- FCCLA, American Welding Society and many other student organizations to showcase their vocational skills learned in the classroom from welding, engineering, robotics, culinary arts, agriculture, and foods while keeping them focused on their CTE Career Pathways,staying in school, applying and improving each school year and earning scholarship money for continuing education. The HSBBQCA benefits students, cook teams, teachers, and cook-offs by implementing curriculum supporting classroom learning and offers standardized rules and equal competitive opportunities that provide a Capstone Learning experience for students at each cook off event to showcase their skills to their community and public. Every school likes to have an equal even playing field when competing and to know the rules are consistent, so we got a group of teachers, school districts, adult cook off cookers, and industry experts together to develop a standard set of rules for sanctioning High School Cook Off events. Now Cook Off teams will be assured they have many opportunities to compete in events across the State that all the same and follow and are sanctioned by the High School BBQ Cookers Association.
